The Basics
Child Inc provides each child with a learning environment that promotes school readiness by individualizing educational instruction according to the child’s strengths and needs to ensure each child grows physically, socially, intellectually and emotionally. Our classrooms are staffed with fully credentialed early childhood certified teachers, at least one highly qualified instructional assisant who also supports classroom learning, and a family advocate to facilitate communication between home and school and to offer support in family goal setting.
The Critical Additions
School readiness goals are achieved by providing a comprehensive, balanced curriculum in which a child is actively involved in his or her own learning. It provides the foundation to build future developmental needs. With a two-generational whole family approach, parents are encouraged to participate in the classroom by helping with our leading activities or projects, planning classroom activities with the teaching staff, and introducing or sharing their culture with the class. Child Inc works with families to develop a Family Needs Assessment. This is completed twice a year to capture a baseline for the family and then to show the family’s progress. There is a Parent Father Empowerment Program designed to assist fathers with the development of skills to create positive relationships between parent/parent and parent/child that will impact the functionality and self-sufficiency of their families and to ensure a sustainable connection between fathers and children through the family life cycle. Our extensive parental engagement program provides parents and families with the necessary resources to assist them to effectively perform as their child’s first teacher.
